Ya'at'eeh, TES Family!
Ahe'hee for attending our CCR/Parent Conference at TES! We hope you enjoyed meeting with your child's wonderful teachers! We love your students and work hard to create a safe and respectful environment where they want to be and learn.
We appreciate all the support from our community to provide sports, eye and dental services, and afterschool programs to your children and families. There is more to come! We appreciate how hard you work to help your children read and write and practice math at home. When we partner with parents/guardians, student scores show it! They are making great progress, as you have seen! We ask that you continue to help your children attend school everyday and come on time. This makes a BIG difference in their learning.
We also ask that you not have students bring chips or drinks to school, as we want to encourage healthy diets for their growing bodies and minds.
We have wonderful videos created by Clayton Long on our website that we hope you will watch with your children to support the cultural heritage learning they receive from our wonderful Mrs. Christine Rock.
Ahe'hee for your wonderful support and teaching your children respect and responsibility. They are our treasured future and we are doing all we can to help them prepare and build confidence in themselves.
We will continue to hold Safe Harbor classes in March to help adults heal and write a new story, because YOUR STORY MATTERS! We hope to record more stories and print another book with your input during the coming months. We respect our families and hope to continue to teach our children to Walk In Beauty, the Hozho Way, as you have so beautifully taught them.
Ahe'hee!
February Calendar of Events
Hello Parents.
Wednesday February 1, 2023 is CCR day (formerly APTT) here at TES. This is an early out day for our students who will be leaving here at 12pm. This is also an opportunity for our parents to meet with our teachers and check in on your students progress. Our teachers look forward to meeting with you and sharing how wonderful your student is in their class. We will be sending information home with your students tomorrow, so please be sure to ask about it. We also want to bring to your attention that we are now (and maybe some already have) looking into home visits. Please think about times that may work for you as your teachers will most likely have some type of schedule that your can sign up on. We love your kiddos and are so thankful of the support that you give them at home.
Parents please be aware that the window to provide input into what fees will be charged in our secondary schools has opened. State Law requires every fee that a parent might be charged in our secondary schools to be approved by the District Board of Education after the public has had two opportunities to provide input. No fees can be charged in elementary schools. Secondary school fees for the upcoming school year must be approved by April 1st of the preceding year. On our January board agenda, one can find the spend plans and Program Sustainability Fee Schedule. (cut and paste link below) Spend plans are intended to let parents know the maximum that could be charged if their child participates in a sport or activity. Give them a look. Contact your local school administrator or school board member if you have questions or would like to provide input. We value your input!

Hello TES Parents grades 4th to 6th,
Please be aware that your students will be bringing home information about a couple of surveys they will be taking. These surveys deal with math and your students experience with it. The form contains all of the information about the surveys, where to locate them on line, and who the data is being collected for. Please take a moment to read it. This data helps us to focus our AmeriCorp Math Mentors on students in need of extra support. If you DO NOT want your student to participate there is a form on the back that needs to be filled out and returned. Please sign and return the back portion ONLY if you DO NOT want to have your student participate. The surveys will be given here at the school in the coming weeks. Thank you for all that you do and allowing us to collect this important math data.
Due to the wet weather, SJSD leaders have determined to have a 2 HOUR Delayed schedule tomorrow. Busses will run 2 hours later than usual. NO AM PRESCHOOL will be held. No breakfast will be served. School will start at 10:00 AM and will end at 3:05, as usual. Ahe'hee!

Many of our students are in need of glasses. If your child is one of them, we found an inexpensive place to purchase frames.

Hi parents and Community
We wanted to bring to your attention a special event happening this weekend at our MVHS. Check out the flyer. We hope that you can find the time to support our community.
Ya’at’eeh TES Families!
As you know, tomorrow is College Career Readiness Day at the High School and TES is holding Parent Conferences (Academic Parent Teacher Teams) at the same time (12:30-5:30).
Buses will arrive one hour earlier tomorrow: 11:50 at TES and 12:00 at MVHS, as school will only be held half day.
TES Parent Conferences will run from 12:30-5:30. Parents are invited to come to school with or without your student to talk to their teacher about their abilities and skills they have mastered and goals they want to achieve this year. Research shows that when parents and teachers work together, their child’s success increases dramatically! We want you here! We welcome your suggestions and hope you will volunteer in the school or classroom this year!
We invite you to sit on the School Community Council which will meet on Thursday, 9/15 at 3:30 in the Cafeteria. We will elect our officers for the year (looks good on job applications) and will review school safety issues. Please come and share your concerns and suggestions.
Ahe’hee for your wonderful support this year!
